Kyanite is a mineral from metamorphic rocks. It has is a stiated and bladed crystal which can be transparent or opaque and has a pearlised lustre. It most commonly forms from high-pressure changes within clay -rich minerals during the metamorphism of these sedimentary rocks. It can be blue-white, pink, green, yellow, grey and black. It typically comes from Brazil but is also found in Kenya, Cambodia, Nepal, Russia, Switzerland, Tibet, and certain US states.
Kyanite is thought to be a powerful stone with many helpful applications in healing mind, body and soul. Metaphysically, it is beleives to have a calming influence, a grounding energy and perfect for balancing emotions - ideal for meditation! It is said to facilitate dream recall and help those making the transition through death. As a healing tool, Kyanite is used for stabilising the biomagnetic field following clearing and transformation.
Physically, it is thought to be a natural pain reliever, whilst lowering blood pressure and healing infections. It is also thought to treat muscular disorders, fevers, thyroid, adrenal gland, throat and brain.
As it doesn't retain any negative energy or vibrations, it is a stone that doesn't require clearing.
