These two Smoky Quartz free form pieces have been polished beautifully, showing off their unique facets - windows into their core detailing. Both pieces have lovely rainbows - the left, smaller piece has many rainbows, yet has more clarity overall (this is reflected in the higher price). The larger piece, pictured on the right of the photos, has some hematoid inclusions and tiny cavities which form part of the polished finish of the crystal. They make a spectacular pair!

With Smoky Quartz's wonderful abilities to lift depression and negativity, calm emotions, relieve stress and instil positive thoughts and actions, I have absolutely no doubt these pieces would make wonderful additions to any crystal collection - they would be a perfect gift for a friend or loved one too!

The colour we see in Smoky Quartz is produced when natural radiation from within the surrounding rocks, activates colour centres around aluminium impurities within crystalline quartz - thus a yellow/orange brown/black colour is created. Like Quartz, Smoky Quartz is translucent in appearance and formed in long, pointed crystals, often with darker ends and can be found around the world.

As well as the general Quartz properties, Smoky Quartz is believed to provide specific further benefits.

A crystal to reach for in times of stress and when tolerance and equanimity are called for - Smoky Quartz neutralises negative vibrations, helping you fortify resolve in difficult situations, assisting in communication difficulties and helping you to leave behind anything that no longer serves you.

It is believed to absorb electromagnetic smog, removing toxins and leaving a positive vibration in the space. It grounds spiritual energies and removes negative vibrations, blocking geopathic stress.
